SHE SAID YES

After a year of shared adventures and countless debates about whether "The Brothers Karamazov" is truly Dostoevsky's finest work (she insists it is, he maintains "Crime and Punishment" holds that honor), we are delighted to announce our wedding day. When not explaining what is wrong with the rudder design on his latest sailboat, or attempting to explain quantum entanglement to a skeptical 12-year-old who has mastered the art of the eye-roll, he somehow found time to propose. In typical fashion, he had rehearsed an eloquent speech drawing parallels between their relationship and the harmonic resonance of harp strings (odd enough, given the state of neglect of his beloved electric harp), but when the moment arrived, he simply forgot all of it. Fortunately, incoherent stammering proved effective enough. Their union represents a merging not just of hearts but of documentary collections, old cinema and virtual bookshelves—a logistical challenge that may require the purchase of iPads with somewhat greater capacity. Together, they're creating a family where philosophical discussions at dinner are normal, where sailing adventures are planned with the precision of military operations (and executed with considerably less exactitude), and where his daughter has found in her future stepmother a co-conspirator, confidante, and occasional ally against his more eccentric parenting theories. They all look forward to a lifetime of half-finished books, partially constructed watercraft, impromptu harp recitals, and the kind of love that doesn't need to be perfect to be everything they've ever wanted. The wedding will take place at the end of a three-day celebration taking place from June 6th to 8th, 2025 in the great City of Miami Beach.

Getting Here, Staying here, et cetera

Rooms at The Hyde in Miami Beach will be provided to all guests.  Requests and preferences should be indicated on the RSVP form.  The area is very safe.  The lifeguard houses say it all.

It is our strong suggestion that you not rent a car. Traffic is abysmal, parking is costly, and the events have been conceived with the premise nobody will have their own transportation (i.e., you will not need it).  Simply use a ride share app such as Lyft or Uber to get from FLL or MIA to the hotel and back to the airport.  Mass transit is also available, but more of a hassle than it’s worth for this location.

As you will see below, there are different events planned for Friday evening, Saturday and Sunday, with ample free time, as well.  Although we would love to see everyone enjoying themselves each day, we understand it may not be possible and the RSVP form will allow you to indicate what events you choose to partake of.
